Cool Metal Roof Coatings

Our metal roof panels are coated with AkzoNobel cool metal paints, which contain a high percentage of infrared reflectants. This means that our roof surfaces will reflect up to 70% of solar heat from the roof, as opposed to only 20% reflected from surfaces coated with standard pigmentations.

As a result, roof surface temperatures can be lowered by as much as 38 degrees and energy costs can be reduced as much as 23%.
This Cool Roof technology provides solar reflectance ratings to meet today’s Energy Star requirements.

As important as infrared solar rays being reflected away from a building, is the lowering of interior temperatures. Cool metal roofing can reduce a building’s interior temperature as much as 46 degrees.
